Bentley completes its new driver-focused S lineup with the introduction of the new Flying Spur S, bringing additional dimensions of increased dynamics, dramatic visual presence and heightened audio drama to further enhance Bentley's flagship four-door sedan. This is the first time Bentley's historic 'S' emblem has been applied to a hybrid product and is another step towards Beyond100, Bentley's future vision and sustainable path forward.
Determined and yet unobtrusive The black trim strips on the Flying Spur S models ensure an athletic and understated look, regardless of the exterior paintwork chosen. The effect is complemented by gloss black lower bumper grilles, dark-tinted headlights and taillights, black quad tailpipe bezels and distinctive S badging on the front fenders. The grille is gloss black with vertical slats and a gloss black surround. The S range is offered with an all new 22” five Y-spoke wheel option in Gloss Black or alternatively in a new Pale Brodgar Satin finish. A second wheel option for the S models is a 21-inch tri-spoke wheel that combines gloss black and gloss machined finishes – also unique to S.
The V8 version of the Flying Spur S is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine that develops 550 hp and 770 Nm of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h benchmark takes just 4.0 seconds and the top speed is 320 km/h. Standard on Bentley Dynamic Ride, which can apply up to 1300Nm of anti-roll torque in 0.3 seconds to keep the body flat and stable during spirited cornering, while giving passengers a smooth and smooth ride at gentler speeds offers by decoupling the wheels on each axle. Electronic all-wheel steering is also standard. During slow manoeuvres, the system turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels by up to 4.2° in order to reduce the turning circle and increase agility.
For city dwellers or the environmentally conscious, the Flying Spur S is also available with hybrid drive. This combines a 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine with an advanced electric motor that delivers a total of 536 bhp (544 hp) and 750 Nm (553 lb.ft) of torque, for 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just one Tenths of a second slower than the V8 at 4.1 s. With a range of up to 41 km purely electrically and with only 75 g CO2 per kilometer (WLTP), the Flying Spur Hybrid S is together the most efficient Bentley to date.
