New BMW 8 Series Coupé, new BMW 8 Series Cabriolet and new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé with striking exterior design modifications and interior design that has been further developed in detail. A redesigned vehicle front ensures a dynamic and elegant appearance, and all model variants of the new BMW 8 Series Coupé, the new BMW 8 Series Cabriolet and the new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé are equipped with an M sports package as standard. This also gives the interior a look that is geared even more intensively towards concentrated driving pleasure. Ease of use and connectivity are optimized by a 12.3-inch Control Display for the BMW iDrive system.
There is a choice of three engines for each of the luxury sports cars. At the top of the model range are the BMW M850i xDrive Coupé, the BMW M850i xDrive Cabriolet and the BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupé. These models bring the power of their 4.4-liter, 390 kW/530 hp V8 engine to the road with the help of intelligent all-wheel drive. The 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine in the BMW 840i xDrive Coupé, BMW 840i xDrive Cabriolet and BMW 840i xDrive Gran Coupé models also transfers its drive torque to all four wheels. Alternatively, the 245 kW/333 hp engine in the models BMW 840i Coupé, BMW 840i Cabriolet and BMW 840i Gran Coupé can also be combined with classic rear-wheel drive. Torque, efficiency and supreme driving pleasure characterize the character of the drive technology for the BMW 840d xDrive Coupé, the BMW 840d xDrive Cabriolet and the BMW 840d xDrive Gran Coupé. Its 3.0 liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp. The spontaneous development of power, but also the consumption and emission behavior of the turbodiesel unit are additionally optimized through the use of 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
All model variants are now equipped with an M sports package as standard. This means that they have aerodynamically optimized body features in the area of the front and rear aprons and the side skirts that are painted in the vehicle color. The large, lower air intakes at the front are now structured by horizontal struts. The diffuser insert of the rear apron is in Dark Shadow metallic. 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in a double-spoke design fitted with mixed tires complete the now even sportier appearance. In addition, the standard equipment now includes an M sports brake system with brake calipers painted blue. The particularly powerful V8 models BMW M850i xDrive Coupé, BMW M850i xDrive Cabriolet and BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupé also continue to roll off the assembly line with M-specific design features.
In addition, the brand-typical cooling air intake features newly designed kidney grilles with a distinctive U-profile. An M logo on the BMW kidney grille indicates that the BMW M850i xDrive Coupé, BMW M850i xDrive Cabriolet and BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupé belong to the BMW M model family and the performance of the V8 engine behind the radiator grille.
