Designworks was commissioned by the real estate company Magnom Properties to bring the exterior facade of the new Forbes International Tower in Egypt to an emotional experience. The tower is intended to become a milestone in sustainable urban development in the Middle East. The 230 meter high building was designed by the architects Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill in such a way that architecture and the environment enter into a new symbiosis. The Designworks team will continue this thinking, using reflection, illumination and digital interaction to create a harmonious connection between the building, the environment and the visitor.
In addition, Designworks will create a consistent customer experience for the electric vehicle charging park along all physical and digital touchpoints. The team will be guided by the BMW Group's experience design process, which focuses on the needs of customers. “Collaborating with Designworks fits perfectly with our vision of creating an exceptional experience that integrates innovative technologies to give a new quality to the visitor experience inside and outside the building,” said Maged Marie, CEO, Magnom Properties.
The 55-story business tower, planned in partnership with Forbes, will be part of Cairo's new administrative and financial district. Covering a total area of more than 100,000 square meters, it is intended to set a new standard for environmentally friendly architecture. The overarching goal: CO 2 minimization and the highest certifications for ecological building.
“The BMW Group was the first automobile manufacturer in the world to have its own environmental protection officer, and today sustainability is at the center of its focus – well beyond the automotive sector,” says Holger Hampf, head of Designworks.
“As a BMW Group subsidiary, we are proud to be involved in the design of the Forbes International Tower because we are convinced that good design can help change people's attitudes and behavior and promote responsible behavior.” To be completed in 2027. Further commercial buildings of this type are planned in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
