Genesis premiered X Speedium Coupé at Genesis House New York, a cultural space in Manhattan's Meatpacking District. The concept car embodies Genesis DNA while anticipating the next wave of electric vehicles and underscoring Genesis' future as a luxury electric vehicle brand. The Speedium name was inspired by the Korean racetrack in the city of Inje and the passion for motorsport that inspired the designers of Genesis. The name also embodies Genesis' belief that the emotional value of driving will remain strong even in the age of electrification. The addition "Coupé" further underlines the driving pleasure through aesthetic designs.
On the front of the vehicle, Genesis' signature Two Lines lamps have evolved into a full-width element that encompasses the shape of the crest and resembles the Genesis Crest Grille. It was designed to carry the fender front brand signature for the electrification era by integrating daytime running lights with low and high beams together. It sports an EV face, symbolizing the transformation of Genesis into an all-electric car brand with a product range of six models by 2030. When viewed from above, the hourglass silhouette emphasizes the passion and character of the car. The curved and sensual shape accentuates the wheel arches and creates muscular presence. Viewed from the side, the Parabolic Line running from the front to the rear of the car maintains a certain tension in the design as it would on a classic car. The deliberate "anti-wedge" design culminates in a streamlined look that exudes understated elegance. Meanwhile, an elliptical tail balances the look for a visually pleasing tension between convex and concave surfaces in the tail. The V-shaped stoplights break up the circular shape, creating the distinctive contrast that is hallmark of a Genesis vehicle.
