Stellantis, the world's leading manufacturer of mass-market hydrogen-powered passenger and commercial vehicles, and Hype, an independent operator of hydrogen mobility solutions, today announce their partnership to supply and operate hydrogen-powered vehicles, the first step of which will be the delivery, starting in 2023, of a first batch of 50 zero-emission PRM taxis (Crit'Air 0) in Paris. These vehicles, which can accommodate 5 passengers including one in a wheelchair, or 6 passengers without a wheelchair, have been specially adapted from the passenger versions of the Peugeot e-Expert and Citroën ë-Jumpy vehicles, manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Hordain, in the Hauts-de-France region of France.
The Stellantis hydrogen offer is perfectly suited to the intensive use of professionals, thanks to its range of 400 km, refueling time of 3 minutes, zero emissions and the absence of compromises on the vehicle's load capacity. This zero-emission technology ensures maximum fleet uptime. Another unique feature of these vehicles is that they are 100% electric "hybrids", composed of a reasonably sized rechargeable battery and hydrogen fuel cell system, making them ideal for large scale deployment. stairs.
Using a unique organization, which is unmatched in the market, and in particular hundreds of trained drivers employees and a high visibility, Hype is creating an organization dedicated to the service of people with reduced mobility, ensuring continuous availability, a tailor-made, high-quality service, as well as a priority-access booking application and comprehensive, detailed real-time vehicle usage reporting. As part of their partnership, Stellantis and Hype will also have the ability to deploy up to 1000 hydrogen PRM taxis by the end of 2024. These potential additional vehicles are linked to obtaining the "Parisian PRM taxi" operating license, currently in being introduced by the French authorities.
This offer would make it possible to meet several strategic priorities established by the French government: rapidly improve the volume and quality of transport services for people with reduced mobility, accelerate the energy transition with zero-emission means of transport (Crit'Air 0) and strengthen industrial activities at the Stellantis site in Hordain, in the French region of Hauts-de-France.
