The new ŠKODA FABIA is now based on the Volkswagen Group's latest modular MQB-A0 platform, which has made it possible to expand the interior space. At 4,108 mm, the Nuova FABIA is longer than the previous generation. The trunk has gained another 50 liters, reaching 380 liters, the most voluminous in the category. The new FABIA now also boasts many assistance systems that were previously reserved for higher segment vehicles. In combination with the even more rigid body, the compact offers excellent active and passive safety.
The new design and the revised proportions, the sharp headlights, as well as the rear lights with modern LED technology and the stylistic motifs that recall the geometry of the crystals, underline the dynamic appearance. The redesigned interior features a symmetrical dashboard with a free central display, optional digital instrumentation and horizontal decorative strips. At market launch, the Ambition and Style trim levels will be available in Italy. The sporty MONTE CARLO variant will follow later. Five petrol engines of the Volkswagen Group's current EVO generation deliver power ranging from 48 kW (65 hp) to 110 kW (150 hp), the 1.5 TSI engine is not available in all markets for now. With a drag coefficient of 0.28 CX, FABIA is the most aerodynamic car in its segment. Five new Simply Clever solutions make their model debut.
All engines meet the Euro 6d emissions standard. The 1.5 TSI 150 bhp and 7-speed DSG as standard is the top-of-the-range variant (currently not available in all markets). Models delivering up to 70 kW (95 hp) are equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while for the 81 kW (110 hp) 1.0 TSI you can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed DSG.
ŠKODA offers two multi-injection petrol engines for FABIA, which is front-wheel drive. These 1.0 MPI three-cylinder engines have a displacement of one liter and generate 48 kW (65 PS) and 59 kW (80 PS) respectively. This is 4 kW (5 hp) more than previous generation engines. Both are developed by ŠKODA AUTO and are produced in the Czech Republic.
