The new 2024 Jeep® Wrangler.
10-10-2023 09:49 - MARKET NEWS
The new 2024 Jeep Wrangler is based on a sculptural aesthetic, immediately recognizable thanks to the brand's characteristic design details. The 2024 Wrangler's iconic Seven Slots front grille features an updated look with black louvers, neutral gray metallic bezels and a color-matched surround (platinum silver louvers and bezels on Sahara). The textured black vertical louvers of the new grille, now visibly thinner, improve cooling. A new stealth antenna integrated into the front windshield replaces the previous steel mast antenna, streamlines the Wrangler's appearance and eliminates the risk of becoming blocked by brush or branches during off-road excursions. Five new standard and optional tire designs, with diameters from 17 to 20 inches, renew the Wrangler catalog.
You can choose from multiple door, top and windshield combinations to customize your off-road adventures to suit your needs. Numerous options for open-air freedom include two available standard hardtops (black and color-matched), the exclusive Sky One-Touch Powertop, the Sunrider hardtop canopy and the double door assembly with half doors. The Wrangler is also available in 10 eye-catching liveries, including: Anvil (new), Earl, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Zynith, High Velocity, Hydro Blue, Sarge, Bright White and black.
The most advanced powertrain ever developed for a Jeep Wrangler maximizes efficiency and guarantees up to 51 km of pure electric driving in the WLTP urban cycle (pre-homologation values). The Jeep Wrangler 4xe's powertrain integrates two electric motors and a 400V battery pack with an efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged powertrain and TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. This configuration optimizes the efficiency of the hybrid powertrain components, combined with the proven Wrangler transmission system.
New for 2024, all Wrangler 4xe models offer a Jeep 4xe Power Box, which features four 230V outlets to allow the battery pack to power external devices such as phones and tablets. The Wrangler 4xe powertrain delivers 380 hp (280 kW) of power and 637 Nm of torque* thanks to the following components:
2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine
2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine
Motor-generator unit mounted on the engine
Transmission-mounted motor-generator unit integrated into the 8-speed automatic transmission
96-cell, 17 kWh, 400 V lithium-ion (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery pack.
Whether it's daily commutes in electric mode, an evening in the city or a pleasant off-road adventure immersed in nature, it doesn't matter: the E Selec modes allow you to customize the hybrid driving experience of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe in based on your needs and the type of trip.
Hybrid: The default mode that combines torque from the 2.0-liter engine with torque from the electric motor. Initially, the system uses the power produced by the battery. When it reaches the minimum charge level, it uses the propulsion of the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine
Electric: the engine uses zero-emission electricity. When the battery reaches its minimum charge level, or when the driver requests more torque (for example when fully depressing the accelerator), the 2.0-liter engine is activated
eSave: This mode gives priority to the 2.0-litre petrol engine, saving the battery for later use, such as driving in electric mode on off-road tracks or in urban areas where the use of internal combustion engines it is limited. The driver can also choose between the two secondary modes, called Battery Save and Battery Charge, which can be activated via the Hybrid Electric Pages of the Uconnect system.
Ultima occasione per il motore turbocompresso I-4 da 2,0 litri:
To meet customer demand for a traditional powertrain, a limited batch of 2024 Wranglers equipped with the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 powertrain will be made available in select markets such as Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with Engine Stop-Start System (ESS) delivers 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter I-4 engine uses a low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger with an electronic wastegate exhaust valve for excellent responsiveness and performance. A special cooling system reduces the temperature of the intake air, the throttle body and the turbo. The 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine, which meets European emissions regulations Euro 6D-Final, is part of the Global Medium Engine lineup with double overhead camshafts (DOHC), independent valve timing camshaft and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) system. This wide range of technological features ensures an unparalleled level of performance and, at the same time, reduces consumption. The 2024 Wrangler's 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine will also be available for Sahara and Rubicon models.
