The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is particularly well suited for chauffeur-driven operations. The wheelbase, which is 18 cm larger than that of the long Mercedes-Benz S-Class, benefits the rear entirely. The focus is on the rear area. This is underlined by an even more refined equipment. The massage function of the calf pads on the executive seats is new. The first-class fund has been extensively upgraded. Another convenience is the neck and shoulder heating in the rear.
The exclusive appearance of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can optionally include a two-tone paintwork with a dividing line. It is applied by hand according to the highest quality criteria. Special features of the front are the independent bonnet with chrome-plated fin and the Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille with fine vertical chrome pinstripes. The profile of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also differs from its model brothers: there is a fixed triangular window in the C-pillar. A Maybach brand logo on the C-pillar emphasizes the exclusivity.

On request, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can have electrically powered comfort doors at the rear. If they are operated, the doors open and close without any effort. The integration into the infotainment and operating system MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) and the Active Blind Spot Assist offer a high level of operating convenience and additional security. The rear doors can also be operated from the driver's seat - an important function in chauffeur operation. In combination with the MBUX interior assistant in the rear, the comfort doors can be closed with a hand movement and stopped by stretching out the arm.
The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is based on the completely new interior design of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The large trim parts of the front seats are new to the Mercedes-Maybach. Noble wooden shells nestle around the back of the driver and front passenger seats and make them look like spacious lounge chairs. When equipped with the first-class rear, a similarly distinctive wooden trim sits between the two rear passengers.
With active driving noise compensation, the Mercedes-Maybach is already very quiet in the interior S-Class even quieter. Similar to noise-canceling headphones, the system uses anti-phase sound waves to reduce unwanted, low-frequency noise. The bass speakers of the Burmester® high-end 4D surround sound system are used for playback.
The adaptive rear lighting has its premiere in the Mercedes-Maybach. In several ways, it adapts to the wishes of the occupants: In addition to the brightness, the size and position of the light spot can also be adjusted, and the light color (warm / cold) can also be selected. At the same time, a wide spread between precise work and relaxed lounge light is possible.
In its predecessor, this technology celebrated its world premiere in small series, with the new S-Class generation DIGITAL LIGHT is now starting in large series. The revolutionary headlight technology (special equipment) enables new functions, such as the projection of auxiliary markings or warning symbols onto the road. DIGITAL LIGHT has a light module in each headlight with three extremely bright LEDs, whose light is refracted and directed with the help of 1.3 million micro mirrors. The resolution per vehicle is therefore over 2.6 million pixels.
It is expected that from the second half of 2021 the Mercedes-Maybach will be able to drive highly automated with the new DRIVE PILOT (special equipment) in high traffic or traffic jams on suitable sections of the autobahn, initially in Germany. This relieves the driver and enables him to do various sideline activities, such as surfing the Internet or processing emails in the in-car office. This allows the driver to use his time more effectively.
