The SUV's striking exterior design has been sharpened. The standard LED headlights and LED taillights are new. In addition, the interior received a new dashboard with refined surfaces and a new generation of infotainment. At the same time, Volkswagen has expanded the standard equipment of the T-Cross, which has sold around 1.2 million units in just three years. The most compact Volkswagen SUV once again offers a particularly attractive price-performance ratio. Example Germany: Here the T-Cross starts at a price of 23,250 euros. Delivery is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2024.
The new T-Cross is offered with three efficient turbo petrol engines (TSI). They produce 70 kW (95 HP), 85 kW (115 HP) and 110 kW (150 HP). Four equipment options are available: “T-Cross”, “Life” and the two top versions “Style” (elegant) and “R-Line” (sporty). The three colors are new: “Grape Yellow”, “Clear Blue Metallic” and “Kings Red Metallic”.
The T-Cross is one of the few vehicles in this class in the world to be optionally equipped with “Travel Assist” 05 . The assistance system offers assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance. Depending on the traffic in front and the permissible speed, the T-Cross can regulate the speed by automatically accelerating and braking. “Travel Assist” can also incorporate speed limits, curves and roundabouts into the regulation within the system limits. At the same time, the Volkswagen can stay in lane via “Lane Assist”. If the new T-Cross is equipped with DSG, it can also complete stop-and-go driving automatically.
The significantly upgraded basic version “T-Cross” now comes with, among other things, new features such as LED headlights (instead of halogen), LED taillights, traffic sign recognition, a “Digital Cockpit” with 20.3 cm diameter (8.0 inches), a now free-standing, seemingly infotainment display (also 20.3 cm in diameter), USB-C interfaces and the “Park Assist” parking aid (front and rear). The basic model in the series is powered by the 70 kW TSI engine.
The version “Life” ranks above this . The new additional equipment details include the 16-inch “Nottingham” alloy wheels, projection lights in the exterior mirror housings and smartphone app integration via Mirror Link. The 70 kW TSI also provides propulsion as standard in the T-Cross Life. Base price of this version in Germany: 25,150 euros.
The top versions “Style” and “R-Line” now have the “IQ.LIGHT – LED matrix headlights” (“R-Line”: series only in Germany) with cornering and all-weather lights as standard, which are offered for the first time in the T-Cross on board. The new lighting functions also include an animated welcome and goodbye scenario. In addition, both top models have new 17-inch light alloy wheels as standard, each with a specific design (“Manila” for “Style”, “Valencia” for “R-Line”), exterior ambient lighting and LED taillights with animated flashing and braking functions . The new T-Cross Style focuses more on elegance, while the T-Cross R-Line emphasizes the sporty character with its bumpers in “R” design.
