The front part of the vehicle is painted in "Urban Bamboo". The front section shimmers in various greenish-golden facets. Towards the rear, the color changes to the bluish-black "Shifting Carbon". This effective Chromaflair paint, presented here for the first time by Porsche with a color gradient, is painted by hand with great effort. The inspiration vehicle will celebrate its world premiere as part of the regional Taycan launch event on September 5th. After the world premiere in Singapore, the unique model will be exhibited in Southeast Asia with stops in Malaysia and Thailand.
Fascinating metamorphosis: A miraculous transformation takes place in the depths of the earth, producing a precious gemstone, jade. Over thousands of years, minerals in the earth's crust heat up and are under great pressure before they crystallize and fuse together. The smallest changes in temperature or pressure leave their mark on the rock, creating patterns in green, yellow, gold, white and sometimes blue. This unique journey from the mineral origin to the artisans, from the multifaceted natural stone to the piece of jewelry, is the reason for the timeless appeal of jade.
Inspired by this precious gemstone, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade was created as part of the special request program - an exceptional one-off piece. Together with the team from Porsche Asia Pacific, the designers and paint experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have tried to reflect the vibrancy and innovative power of Southeast Asia in their own craftsmanship. In doing so, they pay tribute to this important region with tailor-made accents and mythical symbols.
For the first time, Porsche has combined two Chromaflair effect paints on the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade. The preparatory work and implementation were accordingly complex and time-consuming: the development phase lasted around a year. The actual painting, which was done entirely by hand, required around 80 hours of work.
Chromaflair pigments contain extremely thin "scales" that appear in different colors depending on the angle of the viewer. These so-called flakes consist of an opaque and reflective core layer made of aluminum, which in turn is surrounded by a glass-like layer. Depending on the thickness of this transparent layer, different colors result. Overall, the flakes are only about 1 µm thick. For comparison: a human hair is about 50 times as thick. In addition to the body of the special Taycan, its model name on the rear and the "Electric" lettering on the side as well as the key cheeks also have this kind of gradient paint finish.
