World premiere of the new Volkswagen Tayron.

The large Volkswagen SUV with five and optionally seven seats is positioned between the Touareg (luxury class) and Tiguan (mid-range). Authentic: its clear and powerful SUV design. Best-in-class: the comfort. Superior: the impression of quality. Generous: the amount of space. Five travelers on their way to vacation have up to 885 liters of luggage space at their disposal in the Tayron. A total of seven efficient engine versions will soon be available. These include two next-generation plug-in hybrid drives (eHybrid). They enable electric ranges of over 100 km and long travel distances of up to 850 km between two refueling stops. In addition, with a trailer load of up to 2.5 tons, the Tayron is a stylish and perfect towing vehicle for trailers of all kinds.

The approximately 4.8 m long Tayron is characterized by a clear, striking SUV design. In the front section, LED headlights and the standard illuminated VW logo provide an unmistakable light signature in the night. The same applies to the rear with its continuous LED crossbar and the VW logo, which is also illuminated here. Precisely guided lines underline the high-quality appearance of the Tayron in the elongated silhouette. This claim is also reflected in the interior: there, pleasant-to-the-touch surfaces and, depending on the equipment, fine materials such as "ArtVelours Eco" (microfiber) and open-pore real wood as well as illuminated decors dominate the image.

After the launch of all versions, Volkswagen will offer the Tayron with a mild hybrid drive (eTSI), two plug-in hybrid drives (eHybrid), two turbo petrol engines (TSI) and two turbo diesel engines (TDI). They are all connected to an automatic dual-clutch transmission (DSG). Even the basic engine, the 110 kW (150 hp) eTSI, is a high-tech drive (mild hybrid with 48V technology). The advantages of the electric and petrol drives merge in the two innovative plug-in hybrid models. They develop a system output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 200 kW (272 hp). Thanks to the 19.7 kWh (net) battery, both Tayron eHybrids enable electric ranges of over 100 km. Your battery is charged at the AC wallbox and at AC charging stations with up to 11 kW, and at DC fast charging stations with up to 50 kW.

The largest TDI with 142 kW (193 hp) is also efficient and is coupled to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard. All Tayron 4MOTIONs are designed for trailer loads of up to 2,500 kg (braked, 12 percent gradient). Thanks to the "Trailer Assist" maneuvering assistant, which is standard in conjunction with the trailer coupling (foldable), even large horse or boat trailers are easy to handle.
